Story: Gayo is a region in Aceh where Arabica Coffee Plants grow at the highest altitude (800-1700 masl) and is considered the biggest Arabica Coffee plantation in South East Asia. The plantations are fully managed by the local farmers; in 2016 data of total farmers shows approximately 102,000 farmers from total farmland of 102,566 hectares. These farmers practice the conservation principle; each coffee farm is shaded by trees. This cultivation method is not the common farming practice in other regions of Indonesia.
