Barista

Work with store leadership team to design and implement a new customer feedback plan

Cafe Leader

Job Description

The Café Leader guides their team to meet store goals and standards and ensures positive “third space” experiences for all customers and store personnel. They oversee service and production in both the kitchen and the front of the house. Reporting directly to the Manager, the Café Leader embodies our highest standards in work habits and speaks fluently the language of the coffee business.

Scorecard

Café Leaders achieve the following outcomes in 1-12 months of their start dates:

90-Day Goals

· Develop revised training checklists in collaboration with Manager

· Effective rollout and use of new ordering & inventory procedures

· Increase Inventory Turnover threefold

· Raise store labor productivity ratio from 7 to 9 in collaboration with Management

· Develop Store QC evaluation rubrics

· Maintain overall A+ customer feedback

· Effective communications with staff and customers in person and online

· Effective weekly and/or same page meetings with Team Leaders and Management

Tasting Room Leader & Director of Training

Job Description

The Tasting Room Leader & Director of Training establishes the maximum operational effectiveness and quality possible in the retail environment. He or she is responsible for the experiences of all retail customers and barista personnel, overseeing preparation and service in the front of the house. Foremost among the Tasting Room Leader’s priorities is achieving the “third space” café experience for all customers with safety as the omnipresent (and so invisible) norm. Reporting directly to the Roastery Manager, the Tasting Room Leader not only embodies our highest standards in both work habits and professional manners but is also deeply dedicated to the field of sensory evaluation. In their capacity as Director of Training, this role communicates our standards and coaches teams and individuals in how to execute best practices. 

Duties & Key Responsibilities

The Tasting Room Leader & Director of Training performs the duties of a Cafe Leader with the additional responsibilities of overseeing our Training Program. This role performs key store operator functions, including but not limited to: 

· Roastery and Tasting Room project management

· Train and monitor all staff, equipment, and store performance

· Performing and recording scheduled work reviews and maintenance 

· Conduct daily product taste tests as well as scheduled and private staff and public tastings

· Teach courses in our SCA Premiere Coffee Campus

Scorecard

90-Day Goals

· Submit revised training materials in collaboration with Roastery Manager

· Acquire serve safe certification or SCA certification

· Manage retail sales & service scorecards and present in weekly meetings

· Oversee store operation

· Develop events and promotions plan in collaboration with leadership team
